Good morning Miss Lee (evening in Australia),
Two answers that I have figured out are –
1. 7 bipods and 3 tripods = 7 x 2 + 3 x 3 = 14 + 9 = 23 legs
2. 4 bipods and 5 tripods = 4 x 2 + 5 x 3 = 8 + 15 = 23 legs
If it didn’t have to have at least 2 bipods and 2 tripods, then 10 bipods and 1 tripod would also equal 23 legs as shown by 10 x 2 + 1 x 3 = 20 + 3 = 23 legs, but that only has 1 tripod.
Good evening to you in Australia Lucy! ?
Well done for showing your working out! The answers will be revealed tomorrow! ??
My two different answers are 5 Tripods and 4 Bipods, and 3Tripods and 7bipods.
Well done Ella! 🙂
Check back tomorrow for the answers!
Good morning Miss Lee,
The two answers that I have are:
1.Tripods- 3 legs x 5 = 15 legs
Bipods- 2 legs x 4 = 8 legs
so 15 +8 = 23 legs
2. Tripods- 3 legs x 3 =9 legs
Bipods- 2 legs x 7= 14 legs
so 9 + 14 = 23 legs
Good morning Clare!
Well done, you have shown your working out clearly!
5 Tripods : 3×5=15 and 4 Bipods: 2×4=8 that makes 23
3 Tripods : 3×3=9 and 7 Bipods: 2×7=14 that makes 23
Great! Check back tomorrow to see if you are correct!
Morning Miss Lee!?
This is what I found out…
2 x 10=20
3 x 1=3
20+3=23
So therefore there were 20 bipods and 1 tripod.????????
Good morning Holly 🙂
Check your answer, how many legs would 20 bipods have altogether?
There are 4 tripods if you count their legs it would make 12 but if you count all the legs it would make 18 but if you use your 3 and 2 timetables it would make 23 so the answer is 20 bipods and 1 tripod.
Well done for explaining your working out Ciana, check your answer, how many legs would 20 bipods have altogether?
10 bipods
1 tropod
Well done William, find out if you are correct tomorrow!
Hi, Miss Lee!
My answer is 5 tripods and 4 bipods.
(Also, due to evolution, a creature cannot have 3 legs???????????????????????????????????)
Hello Vincent!

Good Morning Miss Lee and Year 4
This is what I found out
3×legs 5=15
Birpods 2×4=8 legs
Tripods 3legs×3=9
Well done Karter! The question says that there were 23 legs altogether. How many bipods and tripods would have been there to make 23 legs? You could draw it our in paper to help you 🙂
Dear Miss Lee,
My answer is 3 and 7
3 and 7 bipods or tripods? 😀
1.
I think there are 3 tripods and 7 bipods because 3×3=9 7×2=14
14+9=23 .
Fact:
there is no such thing as a bipod or a tripod also
planet zeno
2.
4 bipods and 5 tripods
Well done for showing your working out Emilie!
Either 3 tripods and 7 bipods or 5 tripods and 4 bipods. Paolo
Well done Paolo! The answers will be posted tomorrow along with another maths challenge to remember to check tomorrow’s blog!
1. 3×5=15 so 5 Tripods and 2×4=8 so 4 Bipods and 15+8=23.
2. 3×3=9 so 3 Tripods and 2×7=14 so 7 Bipods and 9+14=23
Well done Clara! Remember to check back tomorrow for the answers!
Great! Check back tomorrow to see if you are correct and try another challenge! 😀
10 bipod, 10×2=20 and 1 tripod, 20+3=23
7 tripods, 7×3=21 and 1 bipod, 21+1=23
Great! Check back tomorrow to see if you are correct and to try another maths challenge!
