Conjunctions
Conjunctions are used to join two simple sentences or clauses together. You can have coordinating conjunctions (and, or, but) and subordinating conjunctions (when, if, that, because).
Have a read of these simple sentences below. Where the full stop is red, add in a conjunction. Remember to read it carefully to make sure it still makes sense, as all the conjunctions mean different things.

Then Rita got some milk for her small kitten called Snow, because it was the cat‘s feeding time. Rita hoped that if she went to bed early, Father Christmas would bring her and her kitten nice presents.

One day Rita run out logs for the fire and she decided to go to the market where she could buy some more but she forgot that it was Sunday and the market was closed. So she went to the scary forest where she found surprisingly lots of logs but they were wet! Poor Rita!
She went back to her cold cabin and wrapped herself up with her yellow scarf.
