Good Morning Year 2!
Click here for a printable version of this blog post: English Friday printable
You all made an excellent start on your poems yesterday. You all had wonderful ideas and really challenged yourselves. I can’t wait to read the final versions of them today! Don’t forget to read any comments I made on the blog yesterday to help make your poems even better!
You may have noticed on Wednesday, that there wasn’t the proper handwriting focus as there has been every other week. That is because I want you to try and do it today!
So today, could you please finish your poems and then write them up in your neatest handwriting. Give your poem a title and then you could decorate it with a little picture of your animal.
If you would rather type it into the comments, then that is okay too.
Please send in any photos of your work using the Homework Uploader.
I can’t wait to see your finished poems!
There won’t be any Year 2 blogs next week, because it is half term. If you are looking for more fun activities to do, then check out the Whole School Blogs for lots of exciting things to do! Have a happy half term 🙂
Good morning Miss Carruthers,
I sent you my homework.

Well done Jack – what a fabulous poem! I can see that Lily is enjoying her favourite cardboard box! I hope you have fun playing with her today 🙂
Jack, its so lovely to see Lily. I didn’t realise she was completely white and so beautiful. Take care of her.

Good afternoon Miss Carruthers!
We reviewed our poems and we practiced the handwriting joins.
Sometimes we didn’t have enough space to finish the second line in one line.
Well done for practising your joins. Great work girls 🙂

Hello Miss,
I followed the structure of Lemurs poem and there are no capital letters. Could you please clarify? Thank you
Koala

hungry koala eating
lots of leaves from the tree
happy koala climbing
the trees having fun
sad koala sitting

I’m so sorry Marisa – I’m so used to spotting for capital letters that I forgot to check what they did in the Lemurs poem. You are absolutely right and have written a really wonderful poem 🙂
Lovely work Rebecca! Lots of exciting word choices! Try to do your -y like you do your -g, so that they are both hanging under the line 🙂
Well done for making bounce and house to rhyme at the end of your poem! Watch out for your -p letters, make sure they hang under the line 🙂
