Good Morning!
Well done for your work yesterday, I hope you enjoyed reading the start of Clever Cakes by Michael Rosen.
In some of your instructions yesterday, you wrote very ‘bossy’ sentences, telling people how to play the game. Some of you started sentences with verbs.
Do you remember what a verb is? A verb is a word that describes what someone is doing. For example, walk, hide, think, feel, jump.
Have a look at this BBC Bitesize page for a video to explain more about verbs and some activities you can do to practise.
Now see if you can do this activity:
You have to write out 5 sentences on the blog that have these verbs at the start (it is trickier having them at the start, but try to be bossy, tell people what to do!)
Run quickly to get the suitcases.
Play with the toys.
Wash the dishes.
Jump up and get the ball.
Close the gates.
Great sentences!
