I loved all your posters and ideas yesterday. I hope you have put them up in your house to remind you of all the ways to be kind this week.
Today we are going to look at the word happy.
Happy is a root word, and can have different endings depending on how it is used in a sentence. These different endings are called suffixes.
Have a look in the box below to see how happy can be made into different types of words:
Write your five sentences using the ‘happy’ words with all their different suffixes. They will be used in different ways in each sentence.
*Bonus question* Why do we get rid of the –y at the end of happy when we add a suffix?
Once you have done your sentences, try this BBC Bitesize lesson. It gives you more of an explanation about different suffixes and 3 activities that you can try.

Bonus question: It gives the adjective a new meaning and we can compare the different feelings such as happy, happier and happiest.

or:
