Today we’re going to look at a spelling pattern that ends in –tion. These words can often be hard to spell as there are many ways to make this sound (cian, tion, sion) and it is important to know which one to use when. Click here to find out more about the different spellings and here for a helpful poster explaining more: spelling poster
If you want to practise these words more, click here for more words and games for –tion words.
When you are writing these words, try and write them in your neatest handwriting. Can you join any of the letters? All of these letters should be sitting neatly on the line (not hovering above or sneaking below!)
Miss I completed my sentences nation and motion was hard for me.
Well done Layla. Keep practising them – maybe try writing them in lots of different colours to make them colourful and help you practise!
Well done for practising your spellings Adrien. I’m impressed that you tried some joined up handwriting for ‘lotion’.
