Good Morning Year 2!
Click here for a printable version of this blog post: Tuesday Geography printable
This half term, we’re going to be doing a whole school topic all about Great Britain! This will give us the chance to revise some of what we learnt in our London topic, as well as learning new things about the country that we live in.
Today, we’re going to be looking at the UK and hopefully by the end you should know:
- The countries in the UK
- Their capital cities
- Where the capital cities are
- The seas that surround the UK
Watch this lesson to find out more about the countries in the UK and the capital cities. Then try to do the quiz at the end.
Now you are ready to try this Busy Things activity.
Follow these instructions to find the interactive worksheet that you can do at home: KS1 -> Year 2 -> Geography -> Maps and Locational Knowledge -> British Isles -> UK Countries and Capitals.
Let us know how you got on with the different activities.
* If you want to do an extra challenge, see if you can find out something about each country in the UK. It could be:
- the patron saint
- the national animal
- the highest mountain
- the longest river
- anything else!
