Our new topic from January 2020 will be ‘Journeys!’
We will looking at space travel, as well as exploring different vehicles past and present.
Do you wonder about how rockets are made? What would it feel like to be in a rocket to go to the moon?
What were vehicles like in the Victorian times?
Perhaps you could do some research on the first man to visit the moon, Neil Armstrong. We will be researching him lots when we return to school after Christmas!
Have a think and comment on our blog below!
I have a question. Would the fuel (fire)from a rocket possibly burn the rocket during takeoff ? If yes, how is it possible?
The race to reach the moon was won on 20 July 1969, when us astronaut Neil Armstrong became the first person to set foot on it.
Armstrong flew to the surface with Buzz Aldrin in the Apollo 11 Lunar Module, nicknamed Eagle, while their colleague Michael Collins remained in orbit in the Apollo Command Module.
An interesting fact about The Apollo 11 is six hundred million people watched the first man to walk on the moon on TV. Neil Armstrong was a professor for 8 years.
When Neil was 6 years old his dad took him on his first flight. He decided to drive an aeroplane on his own and he liked to learn about planes and he enjoyed learning about space.
Neil Armstrong had three kids; two sons named Eric and Mark and one daughter named Karen. Neil Armstrong travelled with a man called Buzz.
