Good morning Class 4!
I hope you are ready for another week of maths online!
Workbook: 4B
Chapter: 13
Worksheets: 1 and 2
If you are working in your Maths No Problem book from school and have already completed these worksheets, make sure you visit the link in this blog to revise. Then check your answers. Do you still understand the questions? If you’re a little confused, read this blog carefully and log into Maths No Problem to look at the pages without your answers. Have a go at them in your yellow Home Learning Book as it is very important that you review and revise our prior learning to ensure you understand. After that, move onto the challenge.
Since our story of The Tempest has seen our characters get lost at sea in a terrible storm and then find themselves on a deserted island, we are looking at coordinates this week.
Imagine that you have found yourself on a deserted island but you find a treasure map and some coordinates which, if you can work them out, will lead you to some hidden treasure! You would want to find it, wouldn’t you? Well, we better remind ourselves how…
Remember: We always read coordinates in the number of steps (or units) across first and then the number of steps (or units) up.
Can you remember our rule? ‘Along the corridor and then up the stairs.’
So, to describe where the ‘X’ is on the grid below, we would say (3, 5).
Need more explanation? Click here.
Fancy a challenge? Have a go at the challenge below. Can you crack the code to find the treasure?
Please ask me if you have any questions about any of today’s work. I am here to help you!
Good luck!
From Miss Lee 🙂
