Workbook: 6A
Chapter: 4 Decimals
Lesson: 7 and 12 (Multiplying decimals) 13 (Dividing a decimal by a 2 digit whole number)
Good morning Year 6!
Please see the details of your lesson for today.
This week we have been focusing on ‘Fractions, Decimals and Percentages.’
Lesson 7 and 12 -Multiplying decimals
When multiplying decimals, the most important thing to remember is PRESENTATION! You must present your work neatly ensuring that you don’t make mistakes by writing numbers in the incorrect columns etc. Pretend I am coming round with my purple pen…!
Support: The video below may help if you are stuck with lesson 7 and 12.
Lesson 13-Dividing decimals by whole numbers.
Again, PRESENTATION is key!
Use long division (or short division) as usual and then remember to place the decimal point in the correct place in your answer. Tip: If your number has 2 decimal places, the answer will have 2 decimal places. E.g. 3.78÷18=0.21
Support: This online guide and informative animations can help you if you are a little stuck. Click here to access it.
Extension: Click here for the ‘Operation Problem Solving’ extension activity.
Good luck!

Hello Miss Gorick,
The pages that the blog have been giving me are already completed.
What should I do?
Did you get them all right? You could have another go at the questions to practise the skills again. Have a look at the activities that Miss Gorick has put up in the Support and Extension sections on the blog – try and do those.
