  1. The piece of music I choose was the Doctor Who opening theme song. The composer was called Delia Derbyshire. Delia Derbyshire was born in coventry 1937 and grew up in what she described as an upper working class family. She thrived in music and mathematics, falling in love with the work of the composers like Beethoven, Bach and Mozart, and won a scholarship to Cambridge. Delia Derbyshire was rejected by a company called Decca where she was told that women were not employed in there studios, so she joined the BBC in 1960. Some pieces of her music are for TV programmes are Time On Our Hands in 1962, Know Your Car in 1963 and of course her most significant pieces for Dr Who. I Like this piece of music because it has a very good rhythm, the sounds used makes me feel like I would like to watch the programme and it makes me want to listen to it more.
