Today we are going to celebrate all of the songs and hymns we sing at school!

We are so lucky that music and singing is such a big part of school life at St Vincent’s. It brings us so much joy and can lift our spirits whatever time of day! Today is an opportunity to reflect on all of our favourite songs and hymns that we sing with Mr Rees at school.
Task
Your task today is to think about and reflect on your favourite songs and hymns we sing at school. You may like to think back to our special Masses we have at school or Easter and Christmas celebrations and choose your favourite song.
Write on the blog which is your favourite and why you like it. Try to reflect on the message of the song too in your answer.
I really love the song we learnt before Easter ‘There is power in the music.’ I think the message in the song is so powerful and encouraging. You can listen to it here:
My favourite song is star of wonder because it’s Christmas related and it makes me joyful and a lot happier

Easter Jubilation is my favourite school song
because it makes me happy and joyful.

My favourite song is Lord of the dance, I‘m not the man and He‘s Alive because they are all fun to sing and they are also joyful.

My favorite song is Easter Jubilation because it’s jumpy and fun !
My favourite song is also Easter Jubilation because it’s fun to sing and I like it when it gets faster and faster . An other is Oh I wish it could be christmas everyday .

I like the song Easter Jubilation because its joyful and when it gets faster it turns into a challenge and you have to move your mouth a lot and be good at it to do it.

I love doing the warm up song with Mr Rees ‘All I want is a proper cup of coffee’. I love it when it gets faster and faster as it’s really funny and it’s hard not to laugh.
Once we have finished the warmup I like singing ‘Glòria’ because of the clapping bit, especially the clapping bit at the very end.
That’s good to hear Orla, I would like to hear the coffee song!
My favouriote song is I’m not that man because i’ts fast and it has a good tune.

What a great task, Miss Jones! Like many of you, I like the warm up especially trying to work out 12345. I am not very good at « All I want is a proper cup of coffee », I have never managed to get it right, not once, I wonder who has? My favourite hymn is « Oh Mary, We Crown Thee with Blossoms Today” (Bring Flowers of the Rarest), thank you for reminding me, Helena. I like it because Mary surrounded by May blossoms is such a comforting thought and it’s also a lovely waltz. It was hard to pick one, I could listen to you all singing all day!

My favourite song is “ He is alive”, because I like the rhytm and words, plus it is about Jesus.
