I have loved hearing about your beanstalks on the topic blogs. Please can you tell us more about your beanstalks. You can e-mail a photo of it to the office and I will post it here.
If your beanstalk has started to grow:
Can you see the roots?
How tall is the stem?
How many leaves are there?
If your beanstalk isn’t growing any more:
What does it look like now?
Why do you think it stopped growing?
Dear Miss Siswick,
From Anna: My beanstalk grew a little bit. I think I put too much water. I can see two leaves. I can’t see any roots because they are down below.
From Marie: Dear Miss Siswick, we ate runner beans for only one summer. It was fun to see it grow so much.
Greetings
Hello, Anna. I’m glad that your beanstalk has begun to grow. You might see the roots soon if your plant is still in the clear cup.
Hello, Marie. You were one of the only children ever to actually grow and eat runner beans from the beans we planted! Well done.
What a great picture! I am looking forward to seeing lots more.
Dear Miss Siswick,
I am upset that my beanstalk is not growing. It looks like nothing (Nicolas’ words), because we put too much water in there.
Greetings,
Nicolas
I’m sorry you’re upset, Nicolas. Sometimes my plants in the garden just don’t grow and I don’t know why. Could you try planting something else like the seeds from an apple?
Well done all of you….I’m looking forward for some runner beans for my dinner.
Dear Miss Siswick,
My beanstalk is growing right now….since when it was born! It now has 3 stalks. It was growing to the ceiling but now it is so heavy that it is growing towards the ground!!!
Hello, Sam.
I’m glad that your beanstalk is growing well. You might need to put a tall stick in the pot and very carefully wrap the stems around it so that it doesn’t bend and break.
Good morning Miss Siswick,
Thank you for the tip. We will try to plant an apple seed instead ?
Greetings,
Nicolas
Good luck, Nicolas!
Good Morning Miss Siswick,
My beanstalk has 3 leaves and is 35cm tall. I can see a lot of roots coming out from the soil. Today me and my mum are going to put it in a bigger pot.
Well done, Caspian. Your beanstalk sounds very healthy.
Fabulous pictures. It’s lovely to see you all. Sam, Anna and Hermine-they’re great. Nicolas-mine is not growing yet either. I think we should try again later on don’t you?
Hello Miss Siswick.
I am very happy because my plant is very tall and has a lot of leaves and soon I will transplant it into a larger pot.
Well done, Ania. How many leaves does it have?
Dear Miss Siswick and Mrs Knowler
I think I have flooded my beanstalk.
Can I use any bean to regrow another one?
Thanks for your advice.
My plant has seven leaves.
Wow! That is a lot of leaves.
Caspian and Ania-your beans sound as though they’re growing well.
Esmeralda, that’s great.
I think my bean has just started to open a little bit. Fingers crossed.
Dear Miss Siswick,
My beanstalk finally started to grow on Thursday and is growing fast! It has 2 stalks. I have sent a photo to the office for you 🙂
Hi Fiadh. I’m glad that your beanstalk has started to grow. I haven’t got your photo yet but I’m looking forward to seeing it.
Hello! This is Gabriel 🙂
My bean stalk is growing well. I can see white roots through the plastic cup. It is now 30cm tall and has 2 large leaves and a tiny leaf at the top. I think it is going to grow more so we will transfer it to a bigger pot.
Love from Gabriel
It sounds as if it it growing really well, Gabriel.
Hi Fiadh and Gabriel. I’m so glad yours are growing so well. You can use any seed Leopold, it will be an experiment. Try not to let it drink too much this time! Good luck.
