Today’s Phonics task: Practice making the ‘e’ action and saying, ‘e e e e e.’ Go on a hunt in your house for things that begin with an ‘e’ sound. Practice saying them like this e e e e egg.
Practice writing the letter ‘e’ in the air and on the table with your finger. You can also write the letter on your laminated card using a whiteboard pen or on paper using pen, crayons, paint or pencil.
I can’t wait to hear about all of the things that you found in your house that begin with e.
Nicolas found the following objects/ names starting with e: elbow, elevator, elephant, egg, engine (like in fire engine from Peppa Pig book),, Elsa, Emil, Elfriede, Esmeralda, Eloisa, and Emilia. Is it correct that ear does not belong in this group as it sounds different?
Good morning Miss Siswick, Hermine found the following objects/items in our house starting with the sound”eee”:
– eggs
– electricity
– elf
– elephant
– elevator
– escalator
– Elsa book
James sang the eee egg song a few times before starting this exercise.
We found
e for the elephant on his dinner mat
e for easter egg
e for electric whisk
e for an envelope.
Lots of help was given. Uploading his hand created e s. They often came out backwards.
Well done, everyone-that’s an ‘e’ word!
You have found so many objects in your homes that begin with the ‘e’ sound.
If you are finding it tricky, maybe a grown up could find some objects for you and then practice saying the words with you like this, e e e egg for you to repeat.
If you are finding it very easy, maybe you can think of your own words beginning with e and draw/write them.
Please remember that we are focussing on hearing and saying the beginning sounds. A word may begin with the letter e but not sound like ‘e e e’. For example, ‘ear’ and ‘Easter.’
Eloisa likes this letter a lot for obvious reasons.
She found lots of eggs around the house, in addition to an egg timer and a few egg cups.
Just like Leopold she named Elasmosaurus. ??? She showed me its picture that she coloured just yesterday. She explained to me that she learned about it from the show Dinosaur Train. She said: “It is a sea creature that eats fish like a pteranodon (scoops it up from the air) but it has a long neck and is a deep diver.” Who knew??
elephant (Plastic)
Electricity ( a bit of help)
