Good Morning, Nursery.

We are focussing on the sound ‘d’.

Today’s Phonics task:  Practice making the ‘d’ action and saying, ‘d d d d d.’

Go on a hunt in your house for things that begin with a ‘d’ sound.  Practice saying them like this d d d doll.

Practice writing the letter ‘d’ in the air and on the table with your finger.  You can also write the letter on your laminated card using a whiteboard pen or on paper using pen, crayons, paint or pencil.

I can’t wait to hear about all of the things that you found in your house that begin with the d sound.

Love from Miss Siswick

Philip asked for his sound to hunt this morning- he ran around the flat dddddd-ing and found lots of things. He is trying very hard to write the letters and although he’s still a beginner writer he enjoys trying.

  4. Miss Siswick says:

Well done; Alexander, Adelaide and Philip.
You are all getting so good at hearing and saying the beginning sounds in words.

If you are finding the writing tricky, try just writing the capital letters at the moment. You can write them in the air, trace them with cars, or use a paintbrush with water to keep it fun.

  5. Good morning, Grace found her dog, dolly, dinosaur and a tea towel with ducks. Also we mentioned the door and d-d-dad and Eric the d-d-dog. Grace wrote lots of little d s and a few big Ds :))
