Good Morning, Nursery.

Well done for your hard work in Phonics yesterday.

This week, we are practicing rhyming.   Words that rhyme have different beginning sounds but the rest of the word sounds the same.

Each day, read some rhyming books with a grown up or read some traditional and modern Nursery Rhymes here: http://www.wordsforlife.org.uk/songs

Can you say these three rhyming words? Clue: They’re in the Big Pig Song! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Cs8sh2Jgm9o

Can you and an adult take it in turns to say words that rhyme with pig to make a rhyming string? How many words can you think of? They don’t have to be real words!

You could write different beginning sounds to make lots of words that rhyme with pig.

I can’t wait to hear about your rhyming today.

Love from Miss Siswick. (I will be teaching at school so I will not be able to respond until  later today.)

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.
