1. Nicolas very much enjoyed the stories read by yourself and Miss Knowler. I think it would be very nice if the children could also see you and Miss Knowler during such a video.
2. Nicolas enjoyed the activities like building a tower, Easter garden and searching the flat for things starting with the letters we learnt.
3. I am aware that the following might not be possible, but thought I just mention it:- It would be so nice if the nursery class and teachers could meet via zoom (or other technical devices; I have to admit I am a novice in this regard and not very knowledgable…) once or twice a week to sing songs or read a book or have treasure time together. Important would just be this interaction with the class…
4. Would it be possible to record the songs you normally sing please (hello, hello it’s nice to see you, the song about the weekdays etc. ), so we can play the video to them when singing the songs with them? Or is there a list of songs which could be found in YouTube? Nicolas does not provide much information and it would be so nice to incorporate these lovely rituals from school into the daily routine….
5. The writing is still an issue, I.e. the correct grip of the pencil is not there at all. I don’t want to force it.
Overall, Adelaide loves doing the exercise from the school blogs. She enjoys finding the objects, being for maths or phonics. She likes the stories you or Miss Knowler read and also the video from the Assembly. she also likes watching the photos from the other children. The art blog was great too.
One difficulty is regarding writing letters and numbers. Hard to correct her and to help her doing it properly.
The blogs not only gives her (and us too) a routine but also helps her keeping the contact with the school and her friends. Maybe a more direct interaction could also be nice, not just through the blog.
Hello. I hope you all had lovely Easters. I am so glad you really enjoyed our story reading. Myself and Miss Siswick had lots of fun preparing them. Last week we were at the hub school. It was lovely to see each other again, we had lots to talk about. We had the opportunity to read two more stories. Sadly I have not got the technology to film myself reading face to face. (If you saw my Rainbow picture, you will know that taking selfies is not a skill I possess!)
I love reading your comments on the blogs, they make each day more special.
Caspian enjoy very much doing exercises from the nursery blog.
He love the idea of looking at what he has to do as his home work once his in it there is nothing stopping him .
He loves listening and repeating the sounds and picking the words for each sound .
Caspian love the song you all sing at school ( hello hello ) and he often sing it to all of us .
I would like to recommend that Miss Siswick and Mrs Knowler appears via video once a week with a message of support and encouragement to the kids as it will lift the kids spirit and push them to be more active and creative .
Caspian still using the pen in both hand left and right but he seems to be doing fine with both hands and I believe more practice is needed to achieve a better result.
I do support the idea of Nicholas and his mum of the class meeting via zoom but I would minimise it to once a week or once every two weeks .
Dear Nursery,
Thank you for sharing your ideas. We miss seeing you every day and love receiving the photographs of the work you have doing at home. We’ll make another staff video soon so you can see us too!
Take care,
Miss Coleman

Thank you both very much for your feedback. We ‘meet’ as staff team every week and I will pass on your suggestions then.
Kind regards,
Miss Siswick
