Good Morning, Nursery.
I loved hearing your ideas and seeing the houses that you built for ‘The Three Little Pigs’ last week.
Today, we are focussing on another traditional tale about three animals-The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
You can read the book if you have it or listen to the story on the video. (Can you guess who is reading it?)
Then choose your favourite character from the story and tell an adult all about them.
Next, can you build a bridge for the billy goats to cross?
Once you have built the bridge, you could test if by balancing a toy on it or even trying to stand on it yourself!
Was your bridge strong enough? If it wasn’t, try to build a stronger one.
You could create a picture of the characters or your favourite part of the story.
You could also use toys to retell the story or act it out.
I am looking forward to hearing all about it.
Love from Miss Siswick.
PRINTABLE VERSION:N Topic Tuesday
Nicolas and Sophia enjoyed the Story. Ms Knowler read the story! Nicolas: I liked the big billy goat gruff ?, because he pushed the ugly troll into the water. Because he [the troll] was mean. The goat wanted to meet his brothers and because there was no more grass, but there was more grass to eat on the other side.
Nicolas is keen to start building his bridge. We will send a photo later…
Greetings from us ?
Good morning Nursery
Leopold likes the baby goat because he says the troll not to eat him but to wait for its big brother. He is a good goat (clever).
Hello Mrs Knowler,
Thank you for the lovely story. My favourite was the baby goat because I’m little like him and he is so cute.
Thank you Fiadh. I love reading to you all.
I wish I was as brave as the trolls.
☺️
Well done; Nicolas, Leopold, Fiadh and Hermine. I am so glad that you enjoyed Mrs Knowler’s story this morning. I can’t wait to see your strong bridges. Hermine’s looks very strong.
I am very sorry that I am replying so late this morning as I was phoning people at home. Hopefully, I will get to talk to each of you in the next few days. Love from Miss Siswick.
I liked this story – thank you Mrs Knowler! My favourites were the goats because they were strong against the troll.
I found a strong box too to make my bridge, but I had to be very careful climbing on to it to check it was strong enough and not dangerous.
“Thank you Mrs Knowler for reading the story” Caspian said .
My favourite goat ? is the small one because he was white , cute and clever because he told the troll not to eat him but the big one .
I am glad that you liked the story today, Caspian and Sam.
Your bridge is so strong, Sam! Well done.
It’s Mrs Knowler reading the book. My favourite character is the Big Billy Goat because he tossed the bad troll into the air and he splashed into the river! Splat!
We made a bridge with Jenga bricks and Eddie’s Lego. Eddie wanted his Lego back so Grace is rebuilding another one with the bricks and felt tips! 🙂

If we are all very lucky, Mrs Knowler might record some new stories for next week!
