We all know some made up superheroes, like Batman and Wonderwoman, and they are amazing! They often have special powers or magical objects to help them save the world! But, there are real life superheroes too. They don’t have the same sort of magical powers, but they do have something special inside that makes them a superhero to someone.
We learnt about Florence Nightingale. She was a superhero because she spent many years learning about medicine and then became a nurse. She looked after lots of really sick soldiers in the Crimean War.
Can you think of another real life superhero – what makes them a superhero?
My real life superheroes are suffragettes and their leader, Emmeline Pankhurst (Mrs Pankhurst).
These women were brave because they made all sorts of sacrifices to get the vote for women so it was equal with men. This changed the lives of women.
My real life superhero is Florence Nightingale because she help soldiers from the war. Her nurses had to make the hospital clean so they did. In one of the rooms there was a dead animal in the room so the had to clean it up. Once they did, the soldiers were better .
