Good Morning, Reception.

I hope you have had a lovely weekend. Well done for all of your hard work in Maths last week.

Today, we are going to play the memory game that we played a few weeks ago. Because you were all so good at it, today I am making it a bit trickier!

Choose 10 different small objects  and put them on a tray or on the table so that you can see them. Talk about what you have chosen to help you to remember what is there.

Next, cover up the objects with a towel.

Now, can you remember how many objects are under there?

Can you remember which objects are under there?

Next, ask a grown up to take some toys away and show you how many they have taken.

Can you work out how many objects are still under the towel?

You can challenge yourself by saying which objects are still under the cover.

When you’ve had a few turns you can  swap with your grown up. Take away objects and ask your grown up to say how many are still under the cover.

If you are finding it tricky to find the answers, try the activity with fewer objects until you get more confident.  If you are finding it very easy, try the activity with more objects.

Have fun! I am looking forward to hearing how you got on.
Love from Miss Siswick.

PRINTABLE VERSION:R Maths Monday

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.
