We found 4 x 1p, 3 x 2p, 3 x 5p and 2 x 10p. We used different combination to get him to add up to lots of different numbers including numbers over 20,

Mum has 3 coins in her bag
1 of 20p, 1 of 10p and a big with 2 pounds written on it.
It seems that I need a lot(20) of 10p to make 1 of those big one !

Chiara could recognized the coins and prefer the 10 pence as it is the biggest.she can write them as well. Mum has 4 coins of 1 penny,1 of 5 pence and 1 of 10 pence .

Luca found 3x10p 2×5 2x2p and 3x1p in my purse.
He said he would most like the 10p as he can buy most with that!
Luca made a grand total of 26p from the sale of food in his grocery shop today!
We found lots of coins in my piggy bank. We talked about how much they are worth and we wrote down each number. My favourite is 10p, I like this one because it is the most money and I like the lion.
We did a lot of shops, ice cream shop, pizza restaurant and a shop that sells vegetables! We had lots of fun playing shops. I made signs for all the products I sold in my shops. We want to play this game again!
I found in my dad pocket, 5 coins of 1p, 7 coins of 20p, 4 coins of 5p and 0 coin of 10p.
I like the coin of 10p because it has the biggest value.
I played at the shop with my dad and after with my sister and my brother. I put labels on the things to buy. Dad tried to trick me when he bought several things. He did not give me the correct amount. Sometimes I found it but sometimes I didn’t.

He set up a shop with food from the kitchen and labelled the items for sale then sold them back to me (think I lost out!).
He did fairly well working out how much change to give
(e.g. 100p-25p=75p change).

Ryan found some 1p 2p 5p 10p 20p in his piggy bank.
His favourite is 10p because it’s silver.
Ryan made labels on food from the cupboard and we played shop. It was a good way to learn about subtractions as well as the value of each coin.

Rosa made a shop with her toys and wrote labels for each item. Rosa’s mum and sister were her customers and spent 26p altogether. Rosa always ensured all her customers paid full price, otherwise they would received a very disapproving look!

Our 5 pence does not have ‘5’ on instead they write five (had to wear glasses to read).
Madeleine could find 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p and said she would take the 10 as it is more.
