Good Morning, Reception.
Well done for your great shape work yesterday.
Today, we are going to solve another Maths puzzle.
Look at these dogs. Can you name the shapes in the pictures? Can you recognise the shapes that are used? How many of each shape are there? Can you say which lines are curved and which are straight?
Can you solve the puzzle? All of the answers are about the same dog. Can you say which one it is?
Now, choose one of the dogs but don’t tell your grown up which it is. Answer the questions about the dog. Can the grown up get the right answer?
You could draw some shape dogs of your own and play the game again.
I am looking forward to hearing all about your Maths today.
Love from Miss Siswick.

He recognised the tails and body shapes that were curved and straight, the 3 straight necks and noted that all had curved ears. For the puzzle, he answered correctly that it was the dog in the bottom right hand corner. He drew a dog that had a rectangular body, a circular head, triangular legs and a circle at the end of the tail.
Well done, Marcus.
