Good Morning, Reception.

Well done for all of your hard work in phonics this week.

Today, we will be practicing using the tricky words and the ‘ch’ and ‘sh’ sounds for reading and writing sentences.

Can you say or write the beginning digraph for each of these words?

Can you read these sentences?

Can you write the sentences, without looking at them, when an adult reads them to you? Don’t forget your finger spaces!

This is a lot of writing at one time, so I would recommend that you do two or three at a time and then come back to it later.

Challenge: Write two questions for me by sounding out words and using your tricky words.

I am looking forward to seeing your writing today.

Love from Miss Siswick.

PRINTABLE VERSION:R Phonics Friday

It would really help me if your child’s first name was visible on the photo of the writing. If you have chosen to send a photo of your child holding their work, however, please don’t include their name. Also, if you are able to upload it straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) it gets to me more quickly and easily as it doesn’t have to go via the office. Many thanks.

Chop and shock have become Chup and Shuck.

  11. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, Madeleine. You got the ch and sh sounds right and your writing is very neat and clear. It is sometimes tricky to hear which vowel sound it should be in the middle of a word but it will come with practice.
