Welcome to the Religious Education Blog
This blog will include a big question to reflect on about our current Religious Education topic ‘Lent/Easter’.
Big Question of the week:
How did Jesus feel when he got to the garden of Gethsemane?
You could find out more information relating to the Big Question by reading the following scripture in the bible:
Mark 14:32-42
Have a discussion with your family members about the question and then write down your response. Remember to include why Jesus might have been feeling the way he did.
I think Jesus felt sad and unhappy because he knew something would happen to him but he didn’t know what.
I think Jesus felt troubled and full of sorow because he knew he was going to die. Also, I think Jesus felt disappointed because his disciples weren’t suporting him. This was the most difficult time in his life.
Thoughtful reflections Karolina and Helena. You’re right Helena, we know that some of his disciples did betray him.
Jesus felt worried and alone because when he dies everyone that came to Calvary will be alone and they couldn’t live without him, the holy one.
Jesus was upset because the people who Jesus brought with him kept going asleep while he was praying, he also knew something bad was going to happen to him.
That’s right Billie, he must have needed the help of his disciples at this difficult time.
Jesus felt sad because he knew that he would go on the cross.
Interesting responses everyone. A truly difficult time for Jesus.
He would feel brave but also sad because he believed in God and he did it.
Jesus probably felt afraid but said he would do anything for God but not what he wanted to do. I learnt this because if you remember the time when the devil tempted Jesus, Jesus used the bible and God but didn’t do what he wanted.
Well done for linking the time Jesus was in the wilderness Clemence.
Jesus felt unhappy and sorry for the people who did bad things.
