Good morning Class 4!
Well done for all of your reflective and thoughtful responses to Monday’s big question to introduce our new topic:
‘Reconciliation – Building Bridges’
I hope the question got you thinking and today is our first lesson on this topic…
Think about bridges and what they are used for. Bridges allow us to cross things like rivers and seas and connect one place to another. But how are bridges constructed? Well, a bridge needs to be built from both sides. A bridge must be strong enough for people to walk on. Bridges span or stretch across things. A bridge needs to be cared for and looked after otherwise it will just fall down.
Read the following story:
Now complete Task 1 AND 2…
Task 1:
On the blog (or in your Home Learning Book if you prefer), reflect on the story by answering the following questions:
Q What brought Charlotte and Poppy together as friends?
Q Why do you think the friendship faded?
Q What do you think about Poppy?
Q What do you think Charlotte might do?
Task 2:
Think about the importance of friendship to you and what makes a good friend (please remember that in RE discussion time we never name people so whilst it is nice to acknowledge our friends, please do not include any names of friends in your work).
Choose between the three tasks, or you may come up with your own way to celebrate friendship!
Either:
– Write a poem which is about the importance of friendship and describes what friends do for us. Remember to point our that yes, sometimes friends disagree on something but we must build bridges to save our friendship and help it grow.
OR
– Write a recipe for a ‘perfect friend’ exploring all of the qualities that make a friendship. You might have a dash of humour and a generous helping of kindness!
You can choose to write your work on the blog or on paper. If you do it on paper, you might want to decorate your work but remember to keep it neat and beautifully presented!
I can’t wait to see your work!

TASK 1
1. I think that the friendship faded because Charlotte went to show Roise her new book and poppy thought that Charlotte would come back to the table but she didn’t.
2. I think what made Poppy and Charlotte friends is that they both like the same subject which is math, and they worked on it to together.
3. I think that Poppy felt sad because Charlotte left and never came back.
4. I think that Charlotte will relize that she left Poppy on her own and will make it up tp her.
Good answers. For question 1 I also think the friendship faded because the girls didn’t communicate with each other. It is ok to sit or play with different friends sometimes but if a friend says they were sad when that happened you could invite them to play with you next time! Then both of the girls would have been happy!
Task 1
I did it in my home learning book.
Well done Emilie!
I think their friendship faded and wasn’t looked after properly like you would normally look after your prized possessions.
How could they have looked after their friendship?
Here are my answers to the question:
1) They helped each other during lessons.
2) I think the friendship faded because they stopped they stopped doing things together.
3) I think that Poppy is kind and shy.
And now my poem
Friendships don’t always last forever.
Ruckus often breaks out.
Each lasting friendship requires bridges to be built.
I don’t mean the bridges to bring you across water,
No. I mean bridges of friendship. Bridges of trust.
During the lows and the highs, they must be cared for and
Secured. They’ll keep the friendship high above the sea of feuds, safe.
Great work Vincent! For question 2, why do you think this caused the friendship to fade?
I love your poem! I describes friendship very well! Brilliant work!
I have completed the tasks. Here they are;
Task 1:
Q1: Their friendship started when they helped each other in lessons.
Q2: I think that their friendship faded because they started playing with other friends more often, not each other.
Q3: I think that Poppy is a kind and caring friend to have.
Q4: I think that Charlotte will realise that Poppy is sad that she is not playing with her anymore and will be her friend again.
Task 2:
Miss Lee, I have chosen to do some artwork for task 2. I hope that you will like it when you receive my work.
Miss you all,

does anyone know what should I do for task 2? anyone, please comment if you want to for ideas for me…
Hi Amarissa! Well done for answering the questions!
For task 2… I think you should write a poem and create some lovely art work to go with it? Your windmill picture was so beautiful I think your artistic skills would be put to good use here too!
1. They helped each other and they shared laughs and jokes together.
2. I think their friendship faded away because one day Charlotte sat by Rosie and shared her new book but then Poppy thought that she would come back and sit with her but she didn’t and at playtime she played with Rosie and not her.
3. I think that Poppy is feeling sad because she never came back to her and didn’t play with her at playtime with her.
4. I think the next day Charlotte will make it up to her and they will become friends.
Good ideas Ajay, I can see you have thought about the questions carefully! For question 2, do you think communication between the two friends could have helped and how?
Good morning!
Task 1:
1. Poppy wanted to be with Charlotte because She was new at school and she was shy.
2. One day Charlotte went to sit with Rosie, so it’s like she chooses another friend to stay with.
3. Poppy wanted to make friends again with Charlotte so she is a good friend and she wanted to be a friend with Charlotte.
4. I think Charlotte will see and maybe she forgot about Poppy.
Well done Elisa! How might Charlotte try and fix her friendship with Poppy?
Hi Miss Lee, Hope everyone is having a great day!
Task 1:
1. It brought them becoming friends when Charlotte was standing next to a table and Poppy came over and said hello.
2. I think the friendship faded away because Charlotte wanted to show her book because she was proud about it.
3. I think Poppy is a good person because she came to say hi to Charlotte when she was standing shy next to the table.
4. I think Charlotte is gonna come back to Poppy because I think she is a good person.
Task 2:
Miss Lee I will be doing the first one.
Being a good friend is helping them and like teaching them stuff if they want to know. For example let’s say like a football match, and someone is on the other team and they fall on the floor or something and you could help them get up and that is called respect. So you could show some respect to your friends! ??
Hello Raimundo! I hope you are having a great day too!
Lovely ideas here! Yes I agree friends can share their skills and teach each other new things!
TASK 2: Poem
THE BESTEST FRIENDS EVER
The bestest friends,
They always tend,
The biggest heart.
Their very smart.
The one who’s always by your side,
The one who is your personal guide,
It is your friend, the bestest friend,
And that is THAT, it’ll never end.
I will be there for you,
And I know you’ll be there too.
For ever and ever,
I will always remember…
The day I was kind to you!
From,
Elisa ?
A beautiful poem Elisa! Well done for making it rhyme and also saying how you will look after your friend in return as a friendship is made by two people, well done!
Task 1️⃣:
Q. What brought Charlotte and Poppy together as friends?
A. They both loved maths and they kept on helping each other.
Q. Why do you think the friendship faded?
A. I think the friendship faded because there may have been a break up or argument and Charlotte didn’t want to interact with Poppy any more, or she just wanted to make some new friends.
Q. What do you think about Poppy?
A. I think she is a nice friend and I have no idea why Charlotte didn’t want to play with her.
Q. What do you think Charlotte might do?

2. I think their friendship faded when they stopped playing with each other.
3. I think Poppy is very kind and helpful friend to Charlotte.
4. I think Charlotte should play more with Poppy and spend more time with her because she was her first friend when she started in school.
Task 2
I will send my artwork to you ?
Well done Clare! I look forward to seeing your artwork!
What do you think Charlotte might do?
What brought them together was them sharing jokes and liking mathematics.
I think it faded because Charlotte was wanting new friends.
I think Poppy is depressed because she had nobody to play with.
I think she will forget about Poppy.
Well done Rafael! What could have been done to stop the friendship from fading?
Hello miss Lee hope your doing well
Task 1:
1.They had the same interests and they introduced them self.
2. They found new friends and they forgot to pass time together.
3. She is not guilty it is Charlotte so she is a nice and helpful girl
4. Charlotte might say sorry and they will be best friends again
Task 2:
The poem about friendship:
If your friends disagree
They will always come back and agree.
Friends help and like us
And don’t injure or hurt us.
Friends have to share
And always have to care.
Be aware of bad friends,
They can hurt you,
They can use you if your wealthy,
Friends are like that and make others happy.
And if we didn’t have friendship we would sit on a bench until the rest of the day.
Well done Martin! Saying sorry will help to solve the problems or at least be the first step to helping solve the problems!
Thank you for sharing your poem! Well done for rhyming some of the lines too! Friendship is very important!
Task 1
1) Because they were helping each other.
2) Maybe it has not faded, it was only Poppy’s idea. Or maybe because of jealousy.
3) I think she is a good friend but also possessive.
4) I am not sure.
Task 2
Recipe for a good friendship????
INGREDIENTS
– lots of kindness
– being helpful
– being honest and truthful
– a good pinch of caring
– listening (at least a kilogram)
– a good ton of support
– keeping company in difficult times
– letting them playing with you (always ask the person lonely on the friendship bench)
– encouragement
– 100% respect of their ideas and freedom
– being nice
METHOD
Mix everything together in big quantity and use it with lots of people. Friendship is very rare ?
A lovely recipe Paolo, well done!
For question 4, think about how Charlotte might try and fix her friendship with Poppy.
The same things they liked and how they helped each other is what brought Charlotte and Poppy together.
I think there friendship faded because they might be playing more with Elliot and Jessica then with themselves.
I think that poppy is a great friend so, she is probably sad she lost her friend. I also think that she will make up with Charlotte. maybe she’ll even be friends with Rosie as well. Like Rosie might have other friends to so, she can be friend with them too.
If Charlotte finds out that she has made her sad, she might want to be friends with her again and stay friends with Rosie too. So she can explain that her new friend is very kind as well.
