What is a pronoun?
A pronoun is word that replaces a noun.
•A pronoun can be personal: I, me, you, he, him, she, her, we, us, they, them, it.
•A pronoun can be possessive: his, hers, mine, ours, yours, theirs, its
•A pronoun can be indefinite: someone, nobody, anything, everything.
We use pronouns to avoid repetition of the name of a noun.
Can you write 5 sentences using a variety of pronouns? Try to make your sentences as exciting as possible. Use ambitious vocabulary and varied sentence openers. You might want to use some of the grammar techniques we have looked at this week such as fronted adverbials and a variety of determiners. Remember to punctuate your sentences accurately.
1. My favourite toy was stolen by someone.
2. We like to play games on our Nintendo Switch.
3.Slowly I crept into the kitchen to steal my mum’s cookies.
4. We borrowed a board game from her mum and played carefully.
5.They are playing with their football roughly.

I’ve thought of these 5 sentences:
1. I saw Ruby and her friends after school, and when nobody was looking, I ran up to them and shouted “BOO ?!”
2. My mum loves beetroot sandwiches ?, but I find it difficult to watch her eat them.
3. Out of anything I could have for lunch, I am certain I would not choose beetroot!
4. Rose looked purposeful as she strode on her way to meet someone very important, Mayor Makayla.
5. I read a book about a boy called Trevor and his friend Tina, whose dog’s puppies ? had been stolen by someone called Charlie.

4. Slowly, somebody walked out of the shadows and nobody knew who he was or why he got there.
5. One day when Big Foot was spotted, he quickly ran away and his foot steps were hidden by the leaves.

Just check sentence 2, when we change ‘swing’ to the past tense it becomes ‘swung’. 😀

Some good sentences! Make sure if you are using inverted commas, the speech is punctuated correctly (a comma before, the first work started with a capital letter and there is punctuation inside the inverted commas) ?

Well done Ajay! Some good sentences! On sentence 4, you don’t need a comma before the word yesterday.
If you started your sentence with the word yesterday you would need a comma after it because then it would be a fronted adverbial! 😀
