Interesting fact:
The Ogisos were the first dynasty of Benin kings and the name means ‘kings from the sky’ as they believed that they descended from God. That is the same as the belief in Europe at the time where the people also believed in divine rule. The Ogisos established the tradition the kingdom of Benin is now famous for: its unique art.
