Today we are going to look at another BIG QUESTION for our superhero topic.
Remember that you will probably have to do some thinking, talking and maybe even researching to come up with your answer.
Who are your top three heroes of all time?
There are so many people who have done wonderful things in the world, but today I just want your top three!
Things for you to consider:

- *What have they done to make them a hero?
- *Why do they get a place in your top three list?!
- *Why are they important to you?
- *What qualities do they have that you admire?
One of my heroes is Mother Teresa. I think she is so amazing to give up her whole life to look after other people: she is inspirational to us all! I would find it very hard to leave my home, my family and my friends but she thought that looking after others was more important. My Mummy is a hero because she helps people when they are sick. She gets a place in my top three because she thinks of others and is important to me because it makes her special.

be able to vote in elections.

They are important because the work they’ve done has helped different people and changed lives.
They are brave, bold, courageous and inspirational.
You’ve chosen three people who have made such an important difference to three very important areas of life. They are all indeed very brave.
Jesus is a superhero because He died to save us and He helped everyone who needed Him.
He is in my top list because we wouldn’t be alive if He didn’t die for us.
I like Jesus because He teaches us to love ? each other and to be kind.
Jesus is kind and helps everyone.
Saint Mather Theresa is a superhero because, like Jesus, she helped the poor and the sick people. She taught us to love and help everyone above all the poor people.
I loved reading about Jane Goodall. She is a superhero because she went to Africa to study chimps and she discovered that chimps have a language with 20 different sounds and they use tools like us.
She is really courageous and she helped to improve the habitat where the chimps live in Africa. She was kind with the animals.
Wonderful answers Emilia. Jesus’ lessons to love each other and to treat each other kindly are so important for everyone to learn.

I’m glad your mummy is a superhero to you, you must be eating some delicious food at home! Thank you for saying that teachers are as well, but I’ll tell you a little secret – we all definitely make mistakes, even when we’re teaching all you lovely children!
1) Jesus is one of my heroes because he taught us to be good and kind people. He also sacrificed his life to save us for our sins and he is a good role model.

3) Doctors because they look after people and save lives. They work very had and are very inspirational people.
You’re so lucky Gabi to have such a wonderful big brother to look after you.
I know your big brother Wesley very well Gabi because he was once in my class. I can well imagine why you have chosen him as one of your heroes.
Dear Miss Carruthers,
I loved learning about Malala. She is a girl from Pakistan who loved learning and going to school. When a group of armed men called Teliban took control of her village they didn’t allow girls to go to school. She thought this was unfair and she wrote about in a blog. She was shot by them but didn’t die. She is a hero because she stood by what she believed even though it was dangerous.
I also think teachers are heroes. I respect the important work they do because by teaching us about everything they give us the knowledge to make better decision in life and for this we have to be thankful.
My mum is a scientist and she had a colleague named Marie who is still my mum good friend. My mum named me after her. Marie is a scientist working to find a cure to stop coronavirus in a laboratory in Scotland. She is working hard every day and she has a young son at home that she misses. She is my hero because she is working hard to save people.
Very thoughtful answers Marie! What a special and inspirational person to be named after! She’s doing such important work for the world right now, it must be hard for her and her family but she is definitely a hero!
Yes these are very thoughtful answers Marie. How lovely to be named after your mum’s colleague who is a scientist doing some very important work at the moment.
My top three heroes are:
1. Roald Dahl because his books are witty and dark, and have good characters, and because they have been read for generations.
2. Neil Armstrong because he was brave and courageous in his moon landings.
3. Florence Nightingale because she was the founder of modern nursing, helped so many injured soldiers in Crimea, and was the first woman to receive the Order of Merit from the Queen.
Those are great heroes Rex. I love how you have included Roald Dahl because I know how much you love his stories. All of his books have brought so much joy to so many people and that definitely makes him a hero.
I love your choice of heroes Rex. Don’t you think it’s lovely that our new hospitals are called the Nightingale hospitals after Florence Nightingale? She still lives on and is remembered today.
My favourite Beatles song is “I wanna hold your hand “ but I love “Here comes the sun” too. It’s very happy!
Wow Nadine. What a find! I’ve never noticed the blue plaque for Mary Seacole in George Street. I can’t imagine how many times I must have passed it too. Well done for spotting it Do you know when I was about your age my mum bought me my first song and it was one by the Beatles! Yes thank you for choosing teachers as one of your heroes. Miss Carruthers is right. We do make mistakes sometimes – not too often though I hope.
Very interesting answers. I think we are all superheroes in our own way. We all have special qualities.
My top three heroes are Nelson Mandela, Mohamed Salah and Tank Man / The unknown protestor.
Nelson Mandela went to jail for 27 years because he wanted the black people to be equal to the white people in South Africa. When he got out he became president of South Africa. Nelson was a clever man who never gave up.
Mohamed Salah is not just a great footballer, he fought in the Egyptian army and has given lots of money to the poor people in his village. He is generous and kind.
Tank Man/ The unknown protestor stood in front of a tank and blocked it. He did this because he wanted the govenment to stop bossing the people around any more. He was brave.
I think all your heroes sound very brave Finley. It isn’t always easy being brave but they really did stand up for what they believed in.
1. My nanny is my hero, because she used to work for the NHS as a nurse. Nanny is kind, caring and when I call her she is always the first to say ‘hello Joshua’.

3. Mo Salah, is a hero because is one of the greatest football players and has scored 43 goals for Liverpool. Salah is from Egypt, he trained hard every day to learn to be a good footballer and also did his school work. Mo Salah has given money so that his home town in Egypt has clean water. He also helped to build a school there and paid for medical supplies for the hospital.
What wonderful heroes. I like how you have chosen people who have had to work hard to achieve their goals.
