This year in Nursery we looked closely at the work of three very different artists and created some of our own artworks inspired by each one.
Giuseppe Arcimboldo:
Wassily Kandinsky:
Andy Goldsworthy:
Today’s task: Look closely at each art work. Decide which one is your favourite. Tell us who created it, what you can see, why you like it and how it makes you feel. Then, create your own artwork influenced by your chosen artist.
My favourite is the Giuseppe Arcimboldo picture on the left. I like it because I can see onions, onions make me cry. The like the picture because it make me feel happy.
Well done, Sam. I can’t wait to see your own artwork.
James’ favourite is definitely the first painting by Kandinsky.
He likes it because it has so many different colours and makes him feel happy.
I like the one on the right (Wassily Kandinsky) because it is fun and I like the shapes. I like the colours too. It makes me feel happy!
Esme’s favourite paintings are the portraits by Giuseppe Arcimboldo
She sees vegetables, fruits, food and flowers
She likes both because “they got vegetables and flowers”
They make her feel happy
I’m so pleased that the pictures make you all feel happy. I can’t wait to see your art work based on your favourites.
Hello Miss Siswick,
My favourite is the Wassily Kandinsky painting on the left because I love the very colourful circles. I’m going to draw a circle picture.
Nicolas‘ favourite picture is the Kandinsky one (the right one), because „it has blue and black and all the colours“.
Regards,
Nicolas
Well done, Fiadh and Nicolas. Can you see any other shapes apart from circles?
With Sophia’s help I found some rectangles and triangles.
Well spotted, Nicolas and Sophia.
Caspian’s favourite picture is made by Andy Goldsworthy (picture on the right). He likes it because of the dark circle in the middle and all colours around it
My favourite piece of art is the painting from Giuseppe Arcimboldo because I find it funny. The two men on the painting are made of vegetables and fruits. The nose of the man on the left hand side is made of a pear.
Joey likes the top one. He’s convinced that it’s his work of art – it’s the one he did at school.
Well done, everyone. I love hearing what you think about the various art works. I like them all but, then again, I chose which artists we would learn about! I think we should try making some Andy Goldsworthy art, using real objects, when we get back to school and then you can practice your photography skills too.
I love seeing your own artworks. Keep them coming!
Dear all,
Anna chose the second art work by Andy Goldsworthy. “ I love the colours because they makes me feel happy.”
Greetings
Ania’s favorite photo is Giuseppe Arcimboldo because she likes their hair, thay are very colorful, looks like a rainbow.
Yayoi Kusama is one of my favourite artists so we looked at our book and then painted dots just like Yayoi.
First I would do a house then Kandinsky because I love those two. Look at my Kandinsky.
I’m sending you a big lentil Andy Goldsworthy type of heart because I miss you all. Sending big kisses and cuddles too! ♥️
I love all of the art work, Nursery. Well done.
