Class 4 welcomed Albert’s Band today, professional musicians from the Royal Albert Hall. They performed some famous pieces of music and then taught us the rhythm and how to play them. We had a lot of fun clapping back rhythms and then progressing onto musical instruments. We learnt the ‘Can Can’, ‘1812’, ‘The Hall of the Mountain King’, ‘The Liberty Bell’ and ‘Land of Hope and Glory’. When we go in a couple of weeks to the Royal Albert Hall to watch the Classical Spectacular performance, we will be able to know some and the pieces of music. We’re going to learn the words to Land of Hope and Glory so we can sing along!
After our workshop, we had Year 2, 3 and some teachers and parents come to watch our performance. We did so well and they were all able to recognise which songs we were playing, as well as clapping along to our amazing pieces!
