We have been busy in Reception practising our addition! This week we focused on adding two numbers together up to 10.
Before completing our group work, we practised forming our numbers correctly, by starting in the correct place. We then recapped and practised our addition skills, remembering that ‘add’ means ‘more.’
We had lots of different number sentences to work out…
We each chose a number sentence
We made our own number sentence to represent it using counters
We worked out the total amount by counting carefully
Finally we practised writing the number sentence with the total amount
Today we demonstrated lots of perseverance by showing we could all ‘have a go’ even if we found it tricky.
