This week at school we’ve been getting ready for Christmas by learning about Advent and the story of the birth of Jesus in our RE lessons. We discovered that Advent is a special time when we prepare our hearts for the arrival of Jesus. We also learned all about the Nativity story, from Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem, to the birth of Jesus, and the visit of the shepherds and wise men.
To help us remember this special story, we created beautiful stained “glass” window art! Using bright colours, we made pictures showing the manger scene in the nativity. These pieces of work are now being displayed in the hall for everybody to see during our upcoming Nativity play.
We also made fun Christmas elf paper chains! The elf chains are now hanging at home, adding extra cheer to our Christmas decorations.
It’s been a fun and creative week filled with Nativity practice, lots of learning and celebrating as we count down to Christmas!
I loved making it with my friends. Can we please do something like this again? Thank you for making this wonderful activity, Mr Sheehan.
