We have been learning all about Autumn this week!
Today we took a visit to Paddington Street Gardens and took part in a leaf hunt activity. We looked at the different types of leaves and the colours and sizes. We then did some leaf drawings and used our observational skills. After that we collected lots of leaves, twigs and bark and took them back to school for our afternoon activities!
This afternoon we set up an investigation tray and we used magnifying glasses to study the leaves. We learnt a new word, ‘veins’ and we learnt their important job. Together we read ‘Percy the Park Keeper After the storm’ and wrote a list of all the animals in Percy’s park. We also used graphite sticks to do some leaf rubbings.
It was a great day, thank you to the parents and carers who helped on the trip!
