This week, we have been taking part in activities for Anti-Bullying Week.
We started the week with Odd Socks Day! This was a chance for us to celebrate the fact that we are all unique and different. To remind ourselves of this, and to think about the way in which we support others, we spent some time thinking about the ways in which we can make others happy. We were working to “call-out” kindness! We were given some time to think of something that we like about a person on our table. We then took turns to call out kind things, where we said something kind about that person. We shared that we liked the way that people make us laugh, the fact that people help us with our work, and that people are kind to us.
Later on, we looked at some more information about bullying and we learnt that bullying is a repeated and intentional act that can happen face to face, or online. We think that bullying is unacceptable and we learnt about the ways in which we can reach out. We can speak to trusted adults, our friends and our families. We also know that we should not be by-standers in any situation that we see. We should always speak to an adult and support our friends. To show our support of one another, we wrote some kind phrases on an outline of our hands and also wrote some names of trusted adults that we could speak to in these situations. We put them together in a circle to show how we can “reach out”.
Amazing messages! Be kind to each other. Look out for each other, and don’t forget to reach out!
I will reach out to everybody in school and at home also homeless people and I will give homeless people money if I can
