This week is Anti-Bullying Week, and we have been learning how to be a good friend and what to do if we see or are a target of bullying.
We read the book Willy and Hugh by Anthony Browne and looked at the different ways Hugh and Willy were good friends to each other and how Hugh helped Willy to overcome his loneliness. We especially loved reading the book Topsy and Tim Help a Friend by Jean and Gareth Adamson. In this story, Stevie is unhappy at school because he is being bullied. The twins do the right thing by speaking to Mummy and Miss Terry about it so they can stop the bullies picking on Stevie. We then used our phonics to write compliments to each other and we also wrote letters of advice to other children who are being bullied and need our help.
