This term in Art, we’ve been looking at the work of Frida Kahlo, a Mexican artist in the early twentieth century. We’re working on eventually creating our own self portrait paintings.
After studying Frida Kahlo’s own self-portraits earlier in the term, to help us create our painted background last week, we practised creating different hints and tones of colours by combining our paints with white and black.
This week we’ve sketched our own faces and experimented with different strokes to add shading. Everyone has done an amazing job!
Each sketch will be added to our painted backgrounds but before we do, here are a handful of our sketches we’d like to share.
It was so fun when we were drawing our portraits but i always had to rub some things out because i kept on doing the lady on the board not from my picture
I really liked it when we were drawing the portraits
These pictures look fantastic year 5 you look like you added some effort on to that piece of artwork.
