Year 1 have enjoyed learning about Block Printing as part of our Art topic.
During the Art topic the children looked at a range of patterns related to our Under the Sea topic. From this, the children made some of their own designs focusing on one aspect of a pattern. They then selected their favourite and drew a final design.
Before printing, the children wrote some instructions as a guide to help them.
The printing was a success and turned out to be really effective! It was great to see the finished prints.
This topic has demonstrated to the children the importance of planning and designing before a final product is achieved.
