This week in music, Year 1 had a fun and engaging lesson with boomwhackers! We began with a warm-up and learned a new song introduced by Mr. Hilton. To make it more challenging, we also practiced a clapping and stamping rhythm that went along with the song. It was a great way to work together and build our coordination.
After that, we got out the boomwhackers! This week, our focus was on controlling the noise level. We explored how holding the boomwhackers in different ways and tapping them in certain ways can affect the volume and the sound they make. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to experiment with sound and develop their musical skills.
Overall we had a brilliant lesson which everyone enjoyed, even if it did hurt our ears a little!
