This week, a team from Class 6 introduced us to our Learning Power for this term: ‘Reflectiveness’!
During a fabulous whole school assembly, we were reminded of our old friends ‘Resourcefulness’, ‘Resilience’ and ‘Reciprocity’. We then met ‘Science Reflectiveness’, who was very shiny but wasn’t actually our new learning power! Finally, our latest Building Learning Power superhero, ‘Reflectiveness’, taught us all how to be reflective thinkers.
If you are a reflective thinker, you:
- think about what you want to get out of learning
- plan the steps you might take
- revise your plans as you go along and change and adapt them if you need to
- think carefully about what you have done and ask yourself: ‘What went well?’ ‘What could have been improved?’ ‘What can I learn from this?’ ‘Where else can I use what I have learnt today?’
- know your strengths and weaknesses as a learner
- are interested in finding out how to become a better learner
