We are building our learning powers in Year One and this half term we are getting better and better at being ‘Resilient.’ Being resilient means never giving up even when you find something tricky!
During our Building Learning Powers afternoon, we took part in a range of activities which helped build our resilience.
We:
- played games on the iPads that encouraged perserverance/problem-solving
- learnt how to skip with a skipping rope
- shook a container of whipped cream until it turned to butter (this required A LOT of patience)
- sat back to back with a partner and linked arms. Then, we tried to stand up simultaneously (harder than it looks!)
- built a tall structure using lego bricks
- build a tall structure using only spaghetti, marshmellow and tape.
Even though we failed at times, we tried again and again and never gave up!
