As we were unable to attend Westminster Cathedral for their Advent concert this year, we decided to spend the day celebrating the Christmas Story at school. We read the story together and discussed the themes of journey, family and welcome. We discussed how we could share these themes in our school and home families this Christmas.
We then created our own pieces of art for the Christmas Card Competition. First, we thought about our backgrounds and used our art skills of colour mixing to create different tones of colour for our pictures. Then, we thought about what we would like in the foreground, some children chose to create their own stained glassed window and others used black paper to design different silhouettes all based around the story of Jesus’ birth.
Year 3 worked hard to produce a lovely piece of work and we hope you enjoy looking through all of their designs!
