Class 5 were extremely proud to showcase their extraordinary mechanisms, which they have been working diligently to create this term. They all chose an aspect of the Amaluna performance to create a prototype of and then manufacture the set design. Some chose to create the rotating stage or the aerial pulley whilst others tried to create their own design briefs: using a conveyor belt to move the goldfish bowl on to the stage or use a combination of both.
We also enjoyed watching the parents participate in some engineering tasks that we completed prior to using Meccano to create our structures. The first competition was to build a structure out of spaghetti and marshmallows to hold a Kinder Egg in the fastest time and the winner was Erik’s mum. The second challenge was to create a newspaper structure that was the tallest and waterproof within 4 minutes, and the winners for this were Eugenie along with her mother and sister. Congratulations to the winners and to all the family members that took part.
Please head on over to our blog to share what you enjoyed about this morning.
