Last week, we did lots of work around our anti-bullying theme: ‘All Different, All Equal’, including circle times, drama, poetry writing and an anti-bullying workshop. During our Circle Times, we looked at the picture below and thought about the different roles that people might play in a bullying incident. You can probably pick out the bully and the victim, but can you also identify: a bystander, a possible defender, a follower/ supporter, and assistant? We discussed whether all of these people were partly responsible for the bullying continuing. We also talked about how bullying can be stopped and why it is the right (though sometimes difficult) choice to stop being a bystander and to become a ‘defender’ (someone who acts to stop the bullying eg by telling an adult) instead.
We hope that you enjoy reading some of our poems, which were inspired by Anti-Bullying Week.
Poem by E
We are all unique in a way
and everyone needs to stay the same way
no body is better,
but nobody is worse
we have to care for others more than our self.
You are number one
and I am number two
but together we add up
and get the same thing
in both ways.
All though we look different
it doesn’t mean we should fight
just think over it
and notice we’re on the same side.
So don’t bully others
because no one deserves it
not even for revenge,
as you can see.
Just remember 1+2
and then think if you should fight.
Everyone deserves a second chance,
or even 700 chances.
Poem by L
You like Easter
But I like pizza
We are all equal,
We are all different.
You eat sushi
But I’d have something juicy
We are all different,
We are all equal.
I have straight hair
But you have it more fair
We are all equal,
We are all different.
You are short
Because we are all a different sort
We are all different,
We are all equal.
I travel by train
But you’d rather go on a plane
We are all equal,
We are all different
I like sleeping
While you like leaping
We are all different,
We are all equal.
I do cello
But you like yellow
We are all equal,
We are all different.
I’m good at reading
While you are better at leading
We are all different,
We are all equal.
We are all equal in Gods eyes
We are all different in Gods eyes
WE ARE ALL EQUAL,
WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT.
