In year 3 this week, we have started to think about the different climate zones across the world. We have discovered the different weather patterns throughout the year in each of these zones.
Did you know that the polar zone is cold and dry all year round?
Interestingly, the temperate zone (which is the zone across the UK) has cold winters and mild summers.
We created our own climate zone maps and thought about the importance of the climate when growing a variety of different crops. This led us to think about the importance of Fair Trade and why it is vital for us to buy fair trade items when we can. We looked at some products supported by Fair Trade and thought about how the climate zone they are in is influences the success of the farmers harvest.
