This afternoon, Year 2 welcomed our parents to our Creativity Afternoon. We were learning all about mixing colours to getting different colours or different shades of colour. When looking at photos of animals we realised that no animal is just one colour, they all have lighter or darker areas of their fur. So when we tried to paint them this afternoon, we had to mix paints together to create a range of colours and shades.
We mixed blues and purples to create the ocean, added tissue paper icebergs to show where polar bears live. We also mixed paints together to paint pictures of different animals that we had written about in English. Our final activity helped us to practise the different patterns we can make with pens.
