In our Freedom topic we have been learning about animal rights and freedom. To show respect for animal rights we designed and created an ‘Animal Rights Quilt’.
We were set the following criteria:
• It must feature an animal
•It must contain two types of fabric
•It must convey a message about animal rights
Firstly we used a computer programme to design our tile. We all chose an animal, considered at risk, that we had researched and then we created our tile following the criteria set for us.
After everyone had completed their tile, we sewed them together to make a quilt.
Finally, we evaluated our work!
‘I met the criteria because I included the message ‘stop climate change’. If I were to complete my tile again I would use a different coloured thread to make my letters more legible’. LL
‘I am pleased with how well my orangutan stands out on the background but if I created my tile again I would make the message larger so more people could see it’. LC
