We’ve had a great Enterprise Week in Year 6. We voted to make Hama Bead creations (which has become a bit of a Year 6 tradition!) and we’re glad we did because they were very popular indeed!
We started by thinking of names for our company (the winner was ‘Hama Time!’) and designing company logos and then voting for our favourite one. Well done to Clemence for her winning design.
Next, it was time to practice using persuasive language to write an advert for our product. We learnt about superlatives, alliteration and rhetorical questions and then wrote ideas for catchy slogans to persuade others to buy our products. Most of us then chose to dance and say our best slogans in the class advert which was filmed and shown to the other classes in assembly. Click here to see the adverts that all of the classes made: https://www.stvincentsprimary.org.uk/news/enterprise-week-adverts-3/
Our advert must have been very persuasive because we had 94 orders from the other classes-it was so exciting, watching the number of orders going up live on Google Classroom! All of Year 6 also ordered one so we had a busy few days making our products.
We have learnt so much this week about what it’s like to set up and run a business and what it’s like to do paid work! We have also been learning more about democracy through voting for every decision throughout the process and then agreeing to the decision voted for by the majority of the class. We have also been using our learning powers throughout the week.
After we had paid for the Hama Beads and the boards, we ended up with a profit of £99. Year 6 have decided to donate £25 of their profit to charity. We will vote on which charity and what to buy with the rest of the money after half term. You can make suggestions in the comments if you would like to, Year 6.
With the money we have ,I would give it to Great Ormand Street hospital for all of the patients who need massive amounts of medical attention and to make cures for diseases that don’t get better. For the school , I would spend the money on hub supplies and toys.
i want to give the money to grate orlmand street charity . I want to get some more interesting books and wet play games like 4 in a row and some more top trumps .
The charity I want to spend the money on is The Red Cross charity. One of the games that we should spend the rest of our money on is Operation Ouch and Four in a Row.
I really enjoyed enterprise week. I would like to give some of our money to Great Ormond Street Hospital. With the money I would like to buy new books.
I think the charities we could give some of our money to are GOSH and WWF. I would like to spend our money on are new wet play games (Top Trumps) or new books.
I think we should give some money to charity. Maybe we should get some more adventurous books for the book corner. Examples of books:
