Year 3 has had an action packed first week back so far! We began learning about equivalent fractions in maths. We know that these are fractions that represent the same value but look different (ex. different numerators or denominators).
On Monday we spent time finding all the equivalent fractions we could for 1/2. We started by folding strips of paper into fourths and saw that two of these pieces equalled 1/2! Next, we looked at our fraction strips to determine other equivalent fractions. These really helped us to see how many different fractions are equal the same value! We had so much fun and even began discovering different patterns!
