On Thursday, we celebrated Hello Yellow Day at school!
Everyone came to school dressed in their splashes of yellow to brighten up the day!
On Thursday, we talked about why we were dressed in yellow. Yellow is a bright, happy colour that makes everyone feel joyful! We talked about some things that are yellow that make us happy such as the sun, flowers and minions!
We then explored different emotions that we feel such as happiness, sadness, anger, fear and surprise. Everyone feels these emotions buts it’s important to talk to someone if you feel sad, angry or scared. This year’s Hello Yellow theme is ‘wear is loud, wear it proud’, and just like our splashes of yellow, we should be share our emotions with a trusted adult.
Reception shared many trusted adults they could talk to is they feel sad or angry or scared such as teachers, parents and other family members like grand parents.
For our activity we did some special doodling. Drawing can help us when we feel sad or angry. We spent time doodling all of the things that make us happy!
There were so many ideas:
Our parents, sun shine, flowers, ice cream, pizza, geckos, cats, wolves, rainbows, love hearts, our friends, butterflies and many many more!
Well done Reception, I really enjoyed celebrating Hello Yellow Day with you!
Looks like Reception had lots of fun on Yellow Day!! 👏👏👏☀️☀️☀️
