In Year 1 we have begun our new topic of Toys!
This is an exciting History topic. We learnt that History is the study of the past. We linked this to our learning in Music as we have been learning about Mozart with Mr Rees.
In History we have been using vocabulary such as old, new and a long time ago. We looked at a timeline of toys and sorted toys into old and new. We have also been talking about our favourite toys to play with and as part of our homework last week we spoke to a parent or grandparent about the toys they used to play with.
We have discussed the different materials toys are made from. Did you know that in prehistoric times children may have played with toys made from feathers or fur?
In our next History lesson we will be looking more closely at chronology.
